The Resource Network, Inc. (TRN) has the following type of
employment opportunities available periodically:
Teacher,
provides assessment and
evaluation of the participant’s basic academic skills
(reading & math), and when appropriate develops, designs,
and implements a basic academic skills remediation
curriculum, integrating their Individual Service Strategy (ISS)
career recommendations. Administers tests such as the Test
of Adult Basic Education (TABE), Comprehensive Adult Student
Assessment System (CASAS), Differential Aptitude Test (DAT),
and APTICOM to evaluate the grade level, strengths,
abilities, interests, talents, limitations, and barriers of
participants. Designs and presents exciting and informative
participant centered training sessions. Provides
instruction in rudimentary computer skills. Maintains
detailed records on participant attendance, participation,
academic progress, and special needs. Works cooperatively
with case managers, job developers, instructors, and
trainers to assist the participant in becoming financially
independent members of society. Provides either individual
or group instruction in basic reading and math remediation.
Administers pre- and post tests to determine the progress of
participants enrolled in the class. Uses a variety of
teaching methods including audio/visual aids, handouts,
other materials, and lectures to deliver effective classroom
instruction and to promote participation. Teachers must
possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of interpersonal skills for interacting with
participants, educational personnel, and potential
employers. Experience with teaching in a multiple task
classroom. Experience with federal, state, and local
government programs and officials. PC software application
experience in computer aided instruction, word processing,
spreadsheets, database, and presentation/graphics programs.
Recruiter,
plans and directs activities
for outreach and recruitment of employers and participants
for program services. Provides group or individual
orientations and certifications. Builds and maintains
working relationships with area employers, schools, and
community organizations to understand their needs and their
job requirements. Participates as a member of the team;
working cooperatively with case managers, teachers and
trainers to assist participants in obtaining gainful
employment. Develops marketing strategies based on the
company’s established policies and procedures and the nature
of the market. Explains certification and orientation
requirements to participants, and provides overview of
company services and benefits. May provide off-site Intake
services as part of a unit team in educational institutions,
human services facilities, and/or other agencies.
Represents the company before neighborhood groups to
establish communication and rapport between persons in the
community and the company, to facilitate outreach and
recruitment, to publicize company services available, and to
assist in resolving problems facing employers and
participants. Follows up with contacts and submits reports
of activities; maintains files and records of activities to
provide access and retrieval of data. High level of
interpersonal skills; ability to work with diversified
groups of people and all levels of staff. Strong oral and
written communication skills. Past experience working with
state and federally funded programs. Maintains a current
knowledge of all federal, state, and local government rules
and regulations. Computer experience using various software
applications: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and
the Internet.
Mentor/Job
Coach, provides one-on-one
support to participants in all areas of their environment:
family, school and community. Assists participants in
developing goals and objectives to help them achieve their
potential. Collaborates with case managers, counselors, and
community resources to assist participants in meeting their
needs, expanding their talents, abilities, and interests,
and setting and reaching their goals of employment. A team
player with the ability to communicate and work effectively
with employers, adults and youth, families, community
resources and staff. Excellent verbal and written skills.
Experience with federal, state and local rules and
regulations. PC skills include Windows based data entry and
word processing. Experience in exploring and presenting
information and resources. Excellent follow-up skills with
employers and participants.
Trainer,
will provide assessment and
evaluation of participant’s strengths, abilities, interests,
talents, limitations, and barriers, integrating their
Individual Service Strategy (ISS) career recommendations.
Develops, designs, and presents exciting and informative
customer centered workshops and training sessions. Prepares
participant for life on the job and gives the participant
the necessary tools to conduct a successful job search and
retain employment. Motivates participant to continue in
their job quest despite continual rejections and/or
setbacks. Participates as a team member working
cooperatively with case mangers, job developers, counselors,
teachers, outside agencies, etc. to assist participants in
securing unsubsidized gainful employment. Trainers must
possess strong written and verbal communication skills with
a high level of interpersonal skills for working with
customers, community organizations, other agencies, and
potential employers. Experienced in presenting quality
employment and training workshops. Knowledge of federal,
state, and local rules and regulations. Experience using
several computer software applications including: MS Word,
WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint, Job Matching, Resume
Writing, MOIS, and the Internet for job search activities.
Tutor,
Tutors will tutor participants in
academic subjects, such as Literature and the Arts, Math,
Science, Social Studies, and Writing Skills. This may be
accomplished in a group setting and/or one on one and will
include adapting curriculum to meet the participant’s
needs. Will provide assistance to the teacher in preparing
individualize plans for tutoring participants. Tutor’s will
evaluate and monitor the student’s progress. Will also
maintain detailed records on participant’s participation,
special needs, and academic progress. Adapts curriculum to
meet the participant’s needs. Familiar with standard
concepts, practices, and procedures of teaching basic
literacy skills and GED preparation. Relies on experience
and judgment to reach company and participant’s goals for
successful completion of the programs. Works under general
supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills. Should possess a high level of interpersonal skills
for interacting with participants and educational
personnel. Experience in various academic subjects.

Job Developer,
Participant and Employer Outreach and Recruitment;
contacting employers to secure job opportunities for all
participants. Maintains records and job order book for
participants to access while seeking work. Builds and
maintains working relationships with area employers toward
understanding their needs and their job requirements.
Presents Job Readiness/Job Club Training workshops
encompassing interviewing techniques, cold calling,
networking, resume completion, dressing for success, work
ethics, etc. Knowledge of state and federal funded programs
rules and regulations. Participates as a member of the
team; working cooperatively with case managers, teachers and
trainers to assist participants in obtaining gainful
employment.
Job Placement
Specialist, Builds working
relationships with area employers; contacting them either by
phone or in person to locate job openings for all
participants. Maintains detailed records and continuously
updates job file for participants to access while seeking
work. Matches job applicants / participants to employers
according to their skills, abilities, and interests and the
needs of the employer. Participates as a member of the
team; working cooperatively with case managers, job
developers, and job club instructors to assist in placing
participants into unsubsidized employment. Assesses and
counsels participants regarding employment opportunities.
Presents Employment and Training Workshops. Knowledge of
state and federal funded programs rules and regulations as
they pertain to any particular grant program.
Case Manager,
Participant outreach and recruitment. Provides general and
individual orientation to program participants including
assessment and support of all participants. Collects,
organizes, and analyzes information for participants.
Assists participants in developing goals and objectives to
help them achieve independence. Collaborates with Job
Developers and Trainers to assist participants in finding
unsubsidized employment. Knowledge of all WIA/WF/FAE&T and
other grant program rules and regulations. Ability to work
effectively with other organizations and government
agencies. Experienced in administering assessment
instruments, and giving group presentations or workshops.
Excellent follow-up skills.
Program Assistant,
Performs case management activities such as resume
development, helping participants enter their
resume/application on the Internet, tracking participant
attendance, data entry, developing reports, written
information to participants, making phone calls to
participants regarding program. Assists with retention.
Assists participants with faxing of resumes, letters, etc.
May assist with orientations when needed Provides clerical
duties and program support to all staff. Maintains all
program activity sign-in sheets in binders. Makes a copy of
sign-in sheets and files copies in the appropriate
participant file. Maintains resource information for
program participants and replenishes materials on a regular
basis. Maintains lobby area and phone bank, assuring these
areas are kept clean and safe.
Clerical,
Provides telephone support and performs other clerical
tasks. This position also provides program support to all
staff which may include filing, data entry, correspondence,
etc. May assist in providing general orientation to program
participants which includes intake; completing enrollment
paperwork and collecting required back-up documents to be
copied and placed in the participant file. Maintains all
mailing lists of participants and employers and is
responsible for the preparation and processing of specific
mailings. Assists program participants with photocopying,
faxing of resumes, letters, etc. Experienced in office
machines; copier, facsimile, 10-key adding machine, postage
meter, multi-line phone systems, etc. Experience in data
input. Good spelling and vocabulary skills.
