COMPANY BACKGROUND

The Resource Network, Inc. (TRN) was founded and incorporated in September 1990.  The mission of the organization is to cultivate and educate the unemployed and under employed of various disadvantaged and specialized populations utilizing a holistic approach.  TRN specializes in recruitment, comprehensive assessment and evaluation, realistic occupational career planning, goal-setting, employment preparation, placement and job retention.  For over sixteen years, the organization has provided workplace readiness through career planning matched with educational training programs tied to employability profiles and skills of our participants.  In addition, TRN provides occupational, entrepreneurial,  job placement, adult and youth basic literacy skills training, GED preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL) training, occupational & vocational training, and assessment & testing, and counseling services to diversified populations and employers.

As a minority owned, licensed employment agency, we add the distinct advantage of an employer-based program approach.  Our efforts in workforce development have always been at the forefront of TRN’s focus. Our philosophy is founded on the partnering of relevant and necessary training and education with successful transition into the workplace, for entry to mid level employment opportunities.  We employ a culturally diverse, multi-lingual staff of dedicated professionals who have made a long-term commitment to this population.  TRN has demonstrated the industry’s highest level of effectiveness in working with participants in the areas of: vocational/occupational training, basic literacy skills training, GED preparation, ESL, employment and career development.  In addition to TRN's track record, its associates and staff collectively have over 200 years experience working with the chronically unemployed, welfare recipients, first-time offenders and ex-offenders, single parents/displaced homemakers, dislocated workers, individuals with disabilities, and at-risk youth as well as other specialized and more marketable populations.  TRN has an unparalleled reputation for partnering and consulting with a wide variety of community and cultural based organizations.

TRN has planned, constructed, developed, organized and implemented the operation of One Stop Career Centers throughout southeast Michigan.  TRN has vast experience with government funded programs, including the management of a tuition funded voucher system and as the fiduciary for supportive services for multiple Michigan Works! Agencies.  The complexity of the career centers, with the planning, development and operation of the centers and their occupational/vocational training programs has catapulted TRN into one of the independent educational and employment leaders in the industry within this geographic region.
